The Wire Whisperer: My New Jewelry Obsession

Hey everyone!
I have some exciting news to share about a brand new creative journey I've embarked on: wire wrapping and crafting jewelry! For a long time, I've admired the delicate, intricate look of handmade wire pieces--the spirals, the cages, the way simple metal can transform into something truly sculptural. Now, I've finally taken the plunge, and I am completely hooked.
There's something incredibly satisfying about working with wire. Unlike other jewelry techniques that might involve fire or complex casting, wire work feels immediate and tactile. It's a dance between strength and patience; you have to coax the metal into shape, but you also need to respect it's limits. I'm currently experimenting with different gauges of gold and sterling silver, learning how a tiny change in the gage can completely alter the look and feel of a finished piece.
My initial inspiration is coming straight from simple free form. Think delicate, coiled earrings that catch the light, or pendants that frame a beautiful bead like a little nest. It's all about embracing the raw, organic feel of the metal. Every twist and every hammer strike leaves a unique mark, meaning no two pieces will ever be exactly alike.
This is more than just a hobby--it's quickly becoming a passion.
Below is a photo of some of the pieces l am working on.
I can't wait to share my first few collections with you all soon! Follow along to see my progress, and I'd love to hear what kind wire pieces you find most inspiring.
Stay tuned for the first shop updates!
